Sound familiar?
Good things are happening. Make the dates easy to find.
- Activities are announced in different groups and weekly notices.
- New members have to ask where the latest programme lives.
- Volunteers and families need a view beyond this week’s message.
An example in practice
A community programme that follows people home.
A community team publishes gatherings, youth activities and volunteer days in one calendar. The link goes into the weekly message and a QR code appears on the noticeboard. Members choose the calendar app they already use to follow the programme.
Illustrative scenario, not a customer case study or measured result.
Bring the programme together
Publish dates, locations and descriptions for the activities you want to share publicly.
Welcome people into the schedule
Share the link in group messages and newsletters, or a QR code on your noticeboard.
Keep the next gathering visible
Use the same calendar for the next month’s activities. Members can follow without creating an OgeSync account.
Their calendar. Your next event.
A familiar place
to follow along.
Your audience does not need an OgeSync account. They follow using a supported calendar app.
Read the calendar guideGoogle Calendar
Connect your Google account and approve the displayed permissions for automatic event updates.
Apple Calendar
Follow the calendar feed. Apple controls when subscribed calendars refresh.
Microsoft Outlook
Personal Outlook/Hotmail accounts can follow the feed. Work or school accounts may need manual setup or administrator approval.
Before you share
A couple of useful details.
Do members need to create another account?
They do not need an OgeSync account to follow your calendar. Google followers sign in to their Google account and approve the connection. Apple and personal Outlook/Hotmail followers use their calendar app’s subscription instructions. Work or school Microsoft 365 accounts may need manual setup or administrator approval.
How quickly will a changed date appear?
Google connections receive automatic updates after sign-in and consent. Apple and personal Outlook/Hotmail control their feed-refresh schedules, so updates can take time. Work or school Microsoft 365 may need manual setup or administrator approval. Use your usual direct communication for urgent changes; see the calendar guide for setup details.
A little less chasing. A little more clarity.
Make your next event easier to follow.
Publish your schedule. Share the link. Give people a calendar to follow.
